Custom Designed Scrapbooks

Scrapbooks and photo albums are a means to protect your memories, share them with friends and pass them along to future generations. Custom designs make these albums truly personal, which allows for not only the preservation of pictures, but grants you an avenue for telling a memorable story through journaling and tailored design elements. A custom scrapbook is a unique means to preserve your story and share it with friends and family. With the use of digital technology your album will last forever and can be copied and shared with everyone at the touch of a button!

Scrapbook Pages

Custom designs are made one page at a time. With each page, I carefully consider the colors and mood in your photos, as well as your preferences. Each custom page is unique! We begin with an initial consultation, so I can better understand your style preference and the story you want to tell. I will work closely with you each step of the way so you will see the progress as each page is completed and be able to offer your input.

Digital & Paper Based Pages

I offer both digitally created and paper-based pages. Both styles ("Traditional" and "Clean & Simple") can be created in a digital or paper-based medium, it just depends on your preference. Most of the pages in the galleries were digitally created but I can design a similar page with paper and embellishments. Digital designs make use of computer photo editing combined with the latest technology to create interesting & unique pages. They are saved electronically and may be printed and bound on photo quality paper (like a coffee table book) or printed individually and placed into a top-load scrapbook. These books are easy to save, share and copy. If you would like multiple copies of a page or book, then the digital medium is ideal. Paper designs are just like they sound, they utilize paper and other elements (such as 3-D stickers, ribbon, etc.) to create each page. While digital pages offer a lot of interesting options, paper-based pages have the 3-dimensional texture that digital pages mimic.

Styles

My custom pages are divided into two main styles: Clean & Simple and Traditional. Both design styles can be used in either the digital or paper medium. Clean & Simple pages incorporate modern design elements. These pages tend to be more graphic in style with clean lines and simple embellishments. The style works best with high impact pictures or your favorite pictures that perfectly capture a mood or event. Traditional pages are inspired by traditional, paper scrapbooking. While computer technology allows us to do things paper and glue cannot, this style utilizes the texture and layered elements you would traditionally find in a paper-based book. Your custom scrapbook may contain one or both styles. Mix digitally created pages with paper-based pages. There are no rules!

Pre-designed Pages

If you see something in the gallery that you like, you can have that page customized with your pictures, title, and journaling to make it your own. This is a fabulous way to know exactly what you will get and save money! Since the hard part is done (designing a page takes quite a bit of time!) you can save money and still have a beautifully created page! I am continuously adding pages to the gallery so check back often!

"Just Add Photos" Paper-based Pages

These pages are created with paper and embellishments and only need your photos when you are ready. All the pages in the gallery are examples only but you can ask for similar themes and designs or a theme of your choice. I will ship the finished pages to you with photo-safe adhesive so all you need to do is adhere your photos.

How it works

The first step is to decide what type of project you’d like to create. If you’re not sure, check out my “Ideas” section to help find ideas for your scrapbook or other projects. I can also help you at the initial consultation.

At the initial consultation (via phone or email), we will decide on what you’d like in general, the number of pictures or pages you’d like, answer any questions you have and give you an estimate on the price and a time frame for completing your project. (Any changes on the estimate during the process of the project will be discussed with you for your approval.)

I require 50% deposit before I can begin working on your project (see "pricing" for more details). For large projects, I will email you a contract and must receive a signed copy before I can begin the work.

Send me your pictures. For digital pages, we can do just a few at a time via email (if you have them stored digitally) or you can mail me a CD or DVD with your photos. For paper-based pages or if you’d like me to scan your photos (see Photo Editing for scanning costs under “Pricing"), you can send me your photos via mail. While I will treat your photos with the utmost care, I cannot be responsible for original photos that are damaged or lost. Please make a copy for me and keep the originals for yourself.

I will create your custom designed page and email you the digital image for your approval (usually within 2-3 days after I begin your project).

After implementing your requests and journaling (the story behind the photos), I will complete the page and resend it to you via email for final approval.

Upon receiving your final payment, I will send your finished page(s) to you via e-mail or CD/DVD in high resolution, "ready to print" format for you to take to the print house of your choice (for digital pages only) or mail you the final paper-based pages. If you prefer, I can have your digital pages printed for you (see “Printing options” under Scrapbook "Pricing").
